To pull a very disjointed garden visually together, around a beautifully renovated and greatly improved house (well, three really). To design a new entrance with Garage and Drive. The garden to have year-round interest; the client likes strong colours. The design should incorporate a Koi Pond and a Swimming Pool.

Design solution

A new Drive was laid to one side of the house and the original approach to the house closed off. The new koi pond was heavily planted around the shallow shelves and large boulders. The area around the extension was excavated further than originally and retaining walls and steps lead up to the main part of the garden with the koi pond. Yew hedges were planted around the periphery of the extended garden, containing the newly created mixed shrub and perennial borders, planted with large drifts of colourful herbaceous perennials and a large proportion of evergreen shrubs. These will knit together in time and so hold weed seeds at bay.

We have employed Heike to design our last 3 gardens, Hard and Soft Landscaping plus Planting Plans, on each occasion we have been very pleased with the results. Her knowledge of plants, colour and settings has allowed us to see our garden flourish.

Heike has also provided us with a Maintenance plan to advise on when to cut back, trim, feed etc., which we have found very useful.

We have no hesitation in recommending Heike to anyone looking for a beautifully designed Garden.
